This retreat has been canceled. Instead we will offer a retreat on the Heart Drop of the Loving Mother
Saturday, June 28, 2014, 9:30am-5pm
Sunday, June 29, 2014, 10am-5pm
In this Retreat Tempa Lama will share teachings and advice on how we can be a compassionate being in our daily lives.
To truly help others, we have to become a Buddha. To become a Buddha, we have to cultivate the mind of awakening. This is the heart drop of the Buddha’s teaching. The mind of awakening is of two kinds. The first is the awakened mind of aspiration – the wish to awaken in order to help all beings. The second is the awakened mind of action, our compassionate, skillful action to help ourselves and others. The awakened mind of action is the practice of the qualities known as the Perfections. The Perfections are the manifestation of compassion in our living experience. They are the practices of generosity, wholesome action, patience, effort, mindful concentration, and wisdom. Tempa Lama will offer teachings on each of these skillful means and how to cultivate and express them.
Teachings from the Bon Path of Compassionate Beings are rarely offered in the West, yet, they are foundational to living a life guided by compassion and kindness.
