On Sunday, His Holiness will offer the Tse Drup Longevity Empowerment in a separate event.
His Holiness will give instructions on the heart essence of the Tse Drup Longevity meditation practice associated with the Bon long life deity Tsewang Rigdzin. The great Bon master Tsewang Rigdzin is the main long life deity of the Tibetan Bon tradition. In a deep meditative state, master Tsewang Rigdzin received a profound teaching on soul healing from the female awakened being Khandro Yumchen Tukje Kundrol. This special teaching cycle called Tsewang Ja Ri Ma includes rituals for long life empowerment, soul retrieval, life force retrieval, prosperity, and for averting threats to our life force.
The long life meditation practice and ritual of Tsewang Rigdzin strengthens the vitality and wholeness of our life force and vital energy. It is a powerful support on the journey to clearing negative influences and past trauma that affect our soul and restoring wholeness, joy, and inner peace. Most of all, this ancient meditation practice has the power to increase our life span and support us in living a happy and harmonious life.
In addition to offering instructions for this ancient and powerful practice, His Holiness will explain its importance and benefits for our lives. He will illuminate the relationship between our life force and life span, the relationship between our soul, perceptual consciousness, and the mind, and how these interactions affect our long life, health, and happiness.

His Holiness 34th Gyalwa Menri Trizin Lungtok Dawa Dhargyal Rinpoche
His Holiness 34th Gyalwa Menri Trizin Lungtok Dawa Dhargyal Rinpoche is the worldwide spiritual head of Bon and the 34th abbot of Menri Monastery, the mother monastery of Bon in India. His Holiness was selected as the 34th Menri Trizin on January 1, 2018, following a sacred prayer ritual over several days with lamas, monks, and nuns from across Asia.
His Holiness 34th Gyalwa Menri Trizin Lungtok Dawa Dhargyal Rinpoche was born on November 29, 1972, in Amdo, Tibet. At age 17 he became a monk at Gamal Monastery in Amdo, and at age 18 he joined the Bon Dialectic School of Gamal Monastery. He received his Geshe (doctor of Philosophy) degree from Gamal Monastery at age 24. In 1994, he was able to take the 250 vows of a fully ordained monk from the 33rd Menri Trizin, who gave him the name Dawa Dargyal Wangpo. Thus the 34th Abbot was named Dawa (moon), followed by the 33rd Abbot, named Nyima (sun) – forming an auspicious connection like the moon proceeding in the path of the sun.
In 1997, His Holiness entered Menri Monastery in India, where he received his second geshe degree, in 2012. He served the 33rd Menri Trizin, His Holiness Lungtok Tenpai Nyima Rinpoche, for many years and held several important roles in the monastery, most recently as general secretary (administrator) of the Yungdrung Bon Monastic Center Society at Menri. In February 2018, Bonpos worldwide joined in celebrating the selection of the 34th Menri Trizin at Menri Monastery. On September 6, 2018, a formal grand enthronement ceremony took place at Menri.
In 2023, Olmo Ling had the great honor of hosting teachings with His Holiness. Read more about this very special visit HERE (Public Talk), HERE (Importance & Benefits of the Jang Chok ritual for the Deceased), and HERE (Du Tri Su Empowerment).

Offering to Ratna Menling Nunnery at Menri Monastery

Geshe-ma nuns at Ratna Menling Nunnery
during the 2022 female Geshe graduation ceremony
Following the visit of His Holiness 34th Menri Trizin to Olmo Ling in 2023, we were able to sponsor more than thirty nuns at Ratna Menling for a year thanks to the incredible dedication and generosity of our community. Our goal is to again sponsor at least 30 nuns for one year or longer following the visit of His Holiness this year, along with providing much needed general support for the nuns.
There are currently about 80 nuns at Ratna Menling. The nuns at Ratna Menling are able to obtain the doctor of Philosophy (Geshe) degree at the Bon Dialectic School just like the monks and follow the same rigorous academic program of studying philosophy, logic, Tibetan literature and calligraphy, poetry and grammar, astrology, Tibetan Medicine, rituals and meditation. However, Ratna Menling remains much smaller than the monks’ monastery with just 80 nuns at present, having historically received fewer resources.
Both the late His Holiness 33rd Menri Trizin and the current throneholder, His Holiness 34th Menri Trizin, have worked hard to expand support for the nuns. On the occasion of His Holiness’ second visit to Olmo Ling, we invite you to donate towards the offering to Ratna Menling Nunnery. Thank you for your generosity!
