Chod Healing Retreat

Saturday December 9, 9:30am-5pm

Guided by Tempa Dukte Lama

With Iris Grossmann, Eileen Nadzam, Jim DelBianco, Andrew Kaiser, and Gary Terner

Olmo Ling Bon Center & Institute, 1101 Greenfield Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217

Join us to experience the healing power of the ancient Bon Chod ritual “Laughter of the Dakinis”. Bon lama Tempa Dukte Lama will perform this special healing prayer ritual for the benefit of our community, supported by senior students Iris, Eileen, Jim, Andrew, and Gary. The Chod ritual ‘Laughter of the Dakinis’ was composed by the great Bon Dzogchen Master Shardza Tashi Gyaltsen who achieved the rainbow body in 1934; however, the roots of Chod practice go thousands of years back in time. This ancient ritual with its melodious chant accompanied by the Tibetan hand drum has the power to heal us physically and emotionally. It clears karmic obscurations that restrict our happiness, health, longevity, prosperity, and harmony in our family relationships. Moreover, the Chod ritual supports us in reconnecting with our true nature of purity and joy.

No prior experience with meditation is required. To experience the benefit of the healing ritual, you simply need to be present and relax into a calm, open state of mind while Tempa Lama offers the Chod healing ritual supported by five senior students. Tempa Lama will also offer a teaching to explain the benefit of Chod and the healing journey that we can undertake through this practice.

Tempa Dukte Lama is an ordained Tibetan Bon lama. He is the founder and spiritual director of Olmo Ling Bon Center and Institute in Pittsburgh, PA, and co-founder of Humla Fund. Tempa Lama is an artist and poet and author of four books, Heart Drop of the Loving Mother (2014), Journey into Buddhahood (2013), Inexhaustible Miracles (2011) and The Intimate Mind (2011). Tempa Lama has studied the Bon wisdom teachings, practices, and rituals in Menri Monastery, India, from the age of six under the close guidance of the late H.H. 33rd Menri Trizin. Tempa Lama has lived in the US since 2000 and teaches internationally. He is dedicated to making the ancient teachings of Bon available and accessible in the West, helping people bring a practice of compassion, healing and happiness into their lives.
