Advanced Practical Training in Conducting the Jang Chok Ritual

Prerequisite: Prior completion of the Three Weekend Jang Chok Training offered at Olmo Ling Bon Center either June 7th – June 22nd, 2025 or in July and August 2023.

This IN-PERSON ONLY practical training offers the opportunity to learn more about the Jang Chok ritual for people who participated in the Jang Chok Ritual Training offered this past June with Tempa Dukte Lama.

In this workshop, participants will practice making the tormas and setting up the altar for the Jang Chok ritual as well as chanting and conducting the ritual. This special weekend will also include conducting the Jang Chok ritual with Tempa Lama, with the opportunity to serve as Chopon (service master) for different ritual sections.



ABOUT TEMPA DUKTE LAMA


Tempa Dukte Lama is the founder and spiritual director of Olmo Ling Bon Center and Institute in Pittsburgh, PA, where he works to make the ancient Bon wisdom teachings available and accessible in the West. He is an ordained lama of the Tibetan Bon tradition and an artist, poet, and author of eight books, including a translation and manual of the Jang Chok ritual that is traditionally offered to guide the consciousness of the deceased through the Bardo stages after death. Tempa Lama studied at Menri Monastery, India, from the age of six under the close guidance of the late H.H. 33rd Menri Trizin, the worldwide spiritual head of the Bon tradition. Tempa Lama has lived in the US since 2000 and teaches internationally, helping people bring a practice of healing and happiness into their lives.
