Meditation Instructors’ Training Part II – 2017

With Tempa Dukte Lama

Saturday January 28, 9:30am-5pm, Sunday January 29, 10am-1pm

Olmo Ling Bon Center, 1101 Greenfield Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217

Prerequisite: Previous attendance of the Meditation Instructors’ Training Part I at Olmo Ling.

Upon completion of the full workshop, participants will receive a certificate of successful completion of the Olmo Ling Meditation Instructors Program.

The objective of this Workshop is to train those who would like to be able to offer meditation instructions to help others. This Retreat is also an opportunity to deepen and stabilize your own meditation practice by exploring the stages of concentration on the path of Calm Abiding Meditation in great detail, and deepening your understanding of the relationship of Calm Abiding with Insight Meditation.

The teachings will focus on the nine successive stages of Calm Abiding Meditation according to the Tibetan Bon tradition. Tempa Lama will give detailed explanations of the meditative experience during each stage and how our progression along this path can help us stabilize our mind and feelings during each situation of our lives. He will also explain the relationship of Calm Abiding Meditation and Insight Meditation. Using discussion and dialogue, we will explore how we can deepen and expand our practice at each stage and how we can help others at the various stages of meditation practice.
